Our lives in February

This month has been a busy month as usual. The papers are beginning to pile up for both of us, especially Krista because she writes her thesis this semester...her last semester. Krista got the chance to see her parents and a few relatives up in Tampa in the beginning of the month while I had another great weekend in Jacksonville training. Actually, the training this month was pretty fun because we had swim qualification where I recieved the highest qualification without becoming an instructor. There were only about 10 of us that received this qualification out of our company of about 100 Marines, so not too shabby.
This month we also had the Gyrene Gala, which was again a very enjoyable evening. My parents were able to join us at a very ritzy hotel in Naples for an event to raise money for Marines to go to school at Ave Maria. We got the chance to meet General Sheehan who was the guest speaker, and also honor all military chaplains. It was a beautiful event that really brought forth the esprit de corps the Marine Corps is known for.
Later this month we have birthing classes as well as a barbeque for the baby shower. Thats right, I thought it was a little discriminatory to have a baby shower where just girls go to, because after all, I am paying for this girl...hahaha! So I got my way and we are having a co-ed baby barbeque in Ave Town. We look forward to seeing everybody there.

Till next time...
